Sunnybrook Research Institute and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto.  SHSC has the largest comprehensive breast program in Canada.
 
Each year, approximately 13,000 patients visit the centre, and includes multidisciplinary programs in Breast Radiology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Anatomic Pathology . SHSC is the recent recipient of a $150 million award to fund an expansion which will be adding 100,000 ft2 of research space and also triple the space available for clinical research. It is also a recent recipient of a $130 million investment by the Canadian Federal Government to support the use of AI in medicine.

My area of clinical and research focus is high-risk breast cancer and quantitative breast imaging.  I am an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto, and Associate Member of the Institute of Medical Science (University of Toronto).  My laboratory is focused on developing novel imaging biomarkers using Quantitative Digital Pathology Imaging (QDPI) to predict therapy response in breast patients. In doing so, the research aims to also develop personalized treatment regimens for patients who undergo breast chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy.

Dr. Sadeghi-Naini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Lassonde School of Engineering. He holds cross-appointments in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor, and at Sunnybrook Research Institute and Odette Cancer Centre as a Scientist. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Western University. The focus of his research program is to develop quantitative imaging and intelligent biomarker technologies for precision medicine and personalized therapeutics.
